Yesterday I had a session which normally would have been postponed due to inclement weather. Finally after months of what seems to be a drought we finally get a good soaking rain. I had called my client the night before to discuss option for new dates. She said (not quite verbatim) "As my way of thanking you for donating your services to the schools auction, is there anything you have ever wanted to do during a session? You can use my kids to do this so you can also show it on your website etc." Needless to say I was stumped and taken back. Wow, creative control? and with 3 boys? hmmm I could not think but would get back with her. I made a call to a photographer friend of mine who immediately suggested a romp in the mud/mudfight etc. BRILLIANT! Okay so there is the issue with my equipment, can't get it wet .. but mom without hesitation agreed to hold a golf umbrella over me while I shot. It ended up not raining, it was wet out though. Sometimes things don't always go as planned, no actual mudflight took place (me thinks: ewwwww because I am a girl) but I think this was just as cool. A sneak peek ...
Mom is also a blogger and will write about the ups and downs of the session itself and include some pictures on a new DC moms blog to be published that she is a contributor to.
Oh and the very last one is what I normally would trash, an outtake. It was the very last frame I took - the picture says it all. "Game over". Can you tell they loved me at this point? LOL As my blog header says so perfecty, "Because life is not a dress rehearsal .."
If a session like this ever interests you, seriously let's go. We can do the best of both worlds ..
